A shallot is not as sharp as standard onions, boasting soft, beautiful notes and a bit of sweetness, especially when cooked. Their milder quality makes them easier to eat than other onions, and their subtle flavour doesn't as easily overpower other flavours in a dish.

We have a fruit box delivered every two weeks; the small mixed box, ideal for 2 people is how it is marketed. Well, I am always excited to see what we have in our straw-lined box every fortnight and have not been disappointed yet! The fruit is very fresh, there is a great selection - 12 different fruits in our last box! - and yes, it is a perfect amount for the two of us for the fortnight. So glad I ordered that first box.
