Jerusalem artichoke tubers look a little like ginger root, with brown skin and an irregular, lumpy shape. They have a sweet, nutty, earthy flavour and have been said to taste like water chestnuts when raw, and a mixture of potato and artichoke heart when cooked.
They are a good source of carbohydrates, thiamine, phosphorus, and especially iron, and are also an under-recognized source of potassium – they have about as much as a small banana!
When storing them, they will keep in a refrigerator for 1 to 2 weeks.
I ordered large avocados but they were more like medium. Woolworths large avos are bigger and cheaper. These avos were bit too stringy inside for my liking. Overall I was not satisfied with my purchase.
These were absolutely so perfect and tasty but because I have a regular order I had to resist temptation to order them again this week.
